The Division of Cultural Industries was newly established in 2008, by combining the studies of humanities, social sciences and regional studies, with a focus on culture. If offers two majors : Culture Exchange and Culture Contents Development.
Culture Exchange Major focuses on traditional media(film, broadcasting, publishing, performance art etc), whereas Culture Contents Development Major focuses on digital media(games, animations, mobile, internet etc) Despite such differences, both majors aim to develop 'talented planners' and offer common courses in order to provide a connection between the two majors. They also offer courses which emphasize the cultural features of each region, based on Korean culture as a common foundation.
All the courses focus on the education of planning, distribution and management and also emphasize creativity, development and production. In addition, the curriculum is designed to combine theory and practice, in order to produce professionals competent in practical fieldwork.
