This Department of Electrical Engineering aims to nurture professionals with the ability to develop and apply state-of-the-art technology that will lead the IT industry's rapid development into the 21st century. Our department is composed of the electronics-power system sector, signal processing and control sector and electronic material and system sector. To develop these sectors, we conduct studies on various state-of-the-art technologies in the electrical/electronic sectors, based on the academic foundations of mathematics, physics and chemistry, in order to accomplish the following educational aims.
Electricity, the most essential energy in human life, constitutes the backbone of the modern industrialized world. Worldwide needs of electrical energy are still drastically increasing and the development level of a country highly depends on the amount of electrical energy production and the technological level of its use.
The classical Electrical Engineering has evolved from how to produce, how to carry, and how to use electrical energy. During the last decades, however, Electrical Engineering has continually enlarged its technological horizon, following the dramatic progress of overall technologies. Nowadays, it covers such a broad range of technologies from a few microvolts level to several megavolts, moving towards the development of an integrated technological environment.
Electrical Engineering includes the following fields : 1. Circuit and systems, 2. Electromagnetics and physical electronics, 3. Power system engineering, 4. Electric machinery and power electronics, 5. Control engineering, 6. Electric/electronic materials and apparatus, 7. High voltage technologies, 8. Computer engineering, etc. The Department of Electrical Engineering offers various basic and advanced courses regarding the fields above and relatives which are indispensable to electrical engineers.

I. Cultivation of engineers armed with a wide foundation of basic scientific knowledge
II. Enhancement of field adaptation abilities through the reinforcement of experiments
III. Production of power technicians with creative system designing abilities
IV. Production of electrical professionals with a sense of responsibility

1) Aim I
This mission aims to cultivate the ability to understand and analyze engineering problems, by strengthening the reinforcement of basic knowledge in electrical engineering as well as mathematics, basic science and engineering knowledge, which all become a foundation for acquiring new technologies.
2) Aim II
This mission aims to educate engineers with practical skills that can be applied right away once they are out in the field. By the field, we mean work sites which electrical engineering graduates are said to have been largely recruited according to statistical research, such as heavy industries, electronic sector and construction. The develop of practical skills will be emphasized through the practice and training of various site facilities and equipment. We emphasize strongly on practical education so that students will be able to adapt quickly to their work environment once they graduate from school.
3) Aim III
Designing is one of the most basic skills required as an engineer, and by designing, we don't just mean conditional designing which is limited to a given guideline, but we aim for designing skills that move along with creative minds and ideas. The course "Creative System Design" covers a progressive concept of 'the system', which starts from small components up to the composition of logic circuits and power equipment control systems. It aims to develop creative system design skills by carrying out design practices in each course. In addition, we aim to reinforce the curriculum with courses on electricity, in order to produce professional "power engineers".
4) Aim IV
This mission aims to produce engineers with a good sense of responsibility and professionalism, which are core requirements for a talented engineer. By responsibility, we mean an engineer who can work harmoniously as a team member, and get his job done. Therefore, in order to cultivate such well rounded professionals, our program will not only teach technical and academic content, but also focus on educating good personality and manners.
